Filing divorce can I claim maintenance for our daughter from my wife

My wife left abandoned my one and half year old girl child in police Station where she filed a 498A complaint against me, my mother and father. That complaint was investigated by police and found to be false. The investigated officer asked my wife to take custody of the girl child but she refused to do so & the child is with me. My wife is working in a govt. office and getting Rs 17500 pm. I am filing a divorce petition on account of cruelty. Also want to claim maintenance for maintaining my little daughter from my wife. Can my wife claim her custody now.
Law also gives husband right to claim maintenance. But in court you have to prove that you do not have resources to maintain your child. Moreover court would also see dependency upon your wife of her parents or family or cost of living etc. Before coming to conclusion to grant maintenance or not. Rest do consult a laywer. Coz ur pleas in maintenance case and divorce case should not be in contradiction.
