Father in law forcing my wife to give me divorce What can I do
26-Jul-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I have done court marriage last year in August. Nut my wife dosen't live with me, her father force her for divorce because he is against of this marriage. Her father blackmail my family to case like murder, dovery etc.
You can file a civil suit for restitution of conjugal rights for bringing your wife with you. You can also prefer a criminal complaint against your father in law for wrongful confinment of your wife and for giving threats
The answer to your query can only depend on the opinion of your wife. Is your wife willing to live with you or she has agreed to what your father in law wants. In case your wife is also willing to end the relationship and give you a divorce then there is no option left. But in case there is only the pressure of your father in law and your wife is willing to stay with you, then you have legal remedies available.
Although you have not given few informations about your relationship with your wife, it appears from your question that there is no discord between your wife and you but your father inlaw is creating the whole problem.
You may try to find out that your wife wants to stay with you or not.
You can file a petition for restitution of conjugal rights along with a criminal complaint for wrongful confinement of your legally wedded wife by her father along with other criminal provisions.
However, any type of legal case tends to create a big devide in the relationship between the couple abd their families, so it would be proper to first try to resolve the issue through marriage counselling, mediation centers etc.
