Not only that place. The place where you married or where the marriage is registered. where, at last both of you were jointly resided. Where the wife is currently residing can be the place of jurisdiction to file the petition for divorce.

Hi,

Are you a Hindu? It has to be filed at the place of marriage, last resided or where the wife resides. Normally courts are considerate towards allowing petition to be tried at wife's place of residence.
