Can wife ask for maintenance if husband is earning more money

what is the law for ladies who are working and have no family support and are in a totally private job. 2 - if husband is getting one lac or above and wife is earning only 26 thousand without any support, she has to pay house rent, and mess charges, electricity charges,etc - is the lady entitled to any thing?

yes, wife is entitled to received maintenance from the income of her husband; even she is doing job. it is her right to maintain equal economic status as her husband. There is two remedies available with the wife to file a petition under Section 125 Code of Criminal Procedure or application under Section 24 of the Hindu Marriage Act, for maintenance.

the answer to the above query is yes, the wife, even if earning can claim maintenance under various provisions of law. there is no embargo on the wife not getting anything if she's earning. Maintenance can be claimed under provisions of the Section 125 of the Code of Criminal Procedure. Maintenance pendente lite (pending the suit) and even expenses of a matrimonial suit can be claimed.

Yes wife can surely ask for maintenance from husband even if she is working. Court grant maintenanace as per the status and standard of the husband. There are other factors too which varies in favour of wife as well as husband and court has to weigh it all. All would depend what evidence both parties could bring on record.
So go ahead and file maintenance.
