Can my wife claim alimony or settlement from my parents who support us

22-Aug-2023 (In Divorce Law)
I am a 43 years male unemployed suffering from Chronic kidney disease, I have always been unstable at jobs or businesses until my kidneys failed and have no money or property of my own. My wife works but her income is Rs 50000 annually. My parents are retired supporting me and my wife for all medical and living expenses, wife wants to bring my step daughter to stay with us that has never lived with us, once I allow step daughter to stay with us. Can my wife be entitled to claim alimony or child support from my parents that support us if we get divorced at a later date?

no, she cannot ask for it from your parents only you are entitled to maintain her and pay her the alimony. if you can show the reason of your ailment and the expenditure then the court may even wave it off but your parents cannot be told to pay the maintenance amount. as your wife is working and earning good she can even not be entitled for maintenance.
