Certainly, you cant be harassed for having a girl child. I understand that your husband now wants to part ways and get divorced. Since i have no idea as to what do you want, i presume that the circumstances are not conducive for reunion. If there r possibilities of reunion, u may explore them and if not, u may file a petition seeking maintenance for yourself and your daughter and you may interalia also choose to file a divorce petition or a petition for restitution of conjugal rights (for reunion), as per your wish and desire. Additionally if you so desire you may also lodge a police report with police station concerned for the harassment and cruelty sufferred by you at the hands of your husband.
