Can I file divorce after one week in case of forceful marriage

21-Nov-2023 (In Divorce Law)
Hi I am hindu & I got married 1 week back but I do not want to continue in this marriage. I have a boyfriend for the past 3 yrs who is a muslim with whom I am in a steady relationship. I got married due to force from my parents esp. my father who's a heart patient & recently had a heart attack. I would like to give divorce to my husband as I cannot be in this married life. I would like to divorce him & continue with my boyfriend & get married to him. I have told my husband that I cannot have any physical relation with him. They live in a village, & I am born & brought up in the capital of India. I cannot live by their house rules. I am educated, I am nurse & I am working for one of the largest american conglomerate. Please advise me what can be done to get divorce from him. 1) My in hand salary is much more than my husband's CTC. 2) My boyfriend is a doctor. 3) I came to know that if I change my religion, then it is easy to get divorce before 1 yr as per the laws. Thanks

Marriage is sacrocant institution. It is a legal contract. At the one hand you say that you are educated lady but at the other hand you have entered into such contract fully knowing that the marriage will not work. You have destroyed not yourself but the husband and his family also. You also want to change your religion to get what you want. This shows that you are not educated at all. Divorce Act has not been made for people like you who are destroying the fine knitted social strings for self gain. I hope you will learn this hard way.

Legally filing divorce petition within a week is not permissible in fact this will show your bad intention.
moreover, you may get separated and also apply for judicial separation.
you must keep in mind that you must have some valid ground for divorce as permissible in law. in your case from my understanding no good ground for divorce is made out. merely you do not want to live with him is no ground for divorce.
