Alimony is two types, permanent and interim. Permanent alimony can be monthly or one time. Mainteneance is something interim in nature. Though, both the schemes float from different provisions of law, but the purppse is the same.
So once maintenance is granted, if the wife claims alimony, be it one time or monthly, the maintenance goes away.

yes you can very well file a divorce on the grounds of cruelty and after you file the same, your wife's lawyer will suggest her to tag a case maintenance pendilite to obtain money from you, request you to provide documents and show the status of the case to guide you better.

Yes may be, there is no bar to grant alimony again in the divorce, rather your wife can further file another application for maintenance under section 125 Cr.P.C. and there also she is entitled to get the maintenance.

Yes, it is your discretion. You can file divorce suit if other conditions for filing divorce suit persist. Alimony may be allowed on demand but, she will get only one alimony or maintenance which is of higher amount.
