Is changing a password of someone in prank a cyber crime.

I logged into my friends facebook ID and changed his password. He took it seriously and filed a complaint in cyber branch to track IP. Now he rejects to take back the complaint when i told him that it was me and it was only a prank. What should i do?
The act committed by you is an offence under IT act 2000(as amended by act of 2008). You must convince your friend to take back complaint, else your admission of offense committed for fun, can land you in trouble. You must not give any statement before the police, that you committed this act. We must understand that intrusion into someone's private space over internet/Social media can be very dangerous, and since in India we do not provide education on application of various laws, such acts are becoming very common.
