Is accidental registration of PAN card a cyber crime

Accidentally a pan of a person without his consent is registered by me on e filing portal of income yax department what is its effect on that person and me?is it a cyber crime? What I do?

If it was done unintentionally and accidentally, it is not a crime in any sense.Although you need to immediately contact the Income Tax authorities and let them know about this mix-up. You also need to immediately contact the person that you accidentally registered for e-filing, if you know who he is, and let him know of this blunder.

If you delay in taking these actions, you might face criminal charges in the long run.

yes, it is a wrong. provided you recall it legally and intimate the person as well as the department formally through a legal notice. the liability stands on you until cancellation/suspension/ withdrawal of the said PAN registration initiated by you.

You can immediately write to the Income Tax Department stating the same. If there was no intention it cannot be termed as cyber crime. It is an offence. However, if you immediately report the error of the website in doing so, it should be fine.
