Can custom duty on goods be reduced

hi sir.i am working as legal adviser one of manufacturing company. our company faced a custom problem.that is our company importing some electrical goods from other country with custom exception one day custom board released notification that notification is what we are the importing goods that will come the under the duty . but we did not see that .we are importing goods as per old notification.one day DRI discovery that and sent notices to our company.but we are not done mistake intentionally. dri ask me duty for goods.we agree with dri and paid the money.any chances to me reduce the custom duty please give me suggestion.
