There are different ways of getting assurance from the said person! U can take it all in writing by making a legal draft and bind him by such an act! Or u can make an affidavit out of him and ask him to make a declaration, depends upon the circumstances of the case!

Hello,

Looking into your situation, I can only advise you this that even if you take any kind of written document promising to destroy the evidence, it wouldn't be of much help and he might always keep the evidence to him.

The only legal remedy to your situation is that you make a Police Complaint against the Boy of Extortion and Black-Mail u/s 383 of the IPC. The Police will do the rest by taking him in Custody and taking away all the evidence from him.
