File an f.i.r. against the person who took your car. But it depends on cases where haven't borrow money from them or banks and thats why they took your car, if not, then nobody on this earth can take your car from your possession. Kindly, file an FIR against those people.

While docs are in your custody and in your name it proves that you're owner of the property i.e. Car. You'd lodge a FIR in the concerned police station or you'd file a case against those person in the court of chief judicial magistrate.
