Recovered money by selling things. now case is filed against me U/S380

my friends have filed a complaint under section 380. they had taken some money from me. but they were not returning. in return i took there laptop and sold it to recover my money. now the FIR has been filed. in this case what can i do?
in case of non payment of the debt you have to file a recovery suit. picking things and selling them to recover your money is not permitted by law. Whatever you have done is illegal. now you have to hire a good advocate to fight the case.
