Purse snatched. I want a closure to this case. Please tell me how.

day before yesterday two purse snatchers snatched my mother's purse from a moving auto we followed them for about a kilometer before we cold catch them with the help of a few onlookers when they were caught they did not have the purse we think they might have thrown the purse or passed it to their accomplice the snatching happened in a couple of seconds and we were not able to see their faces we could only recognise them from the shirt and body structure of the person sitting on the back seat of the bike we have filled an fir and we have come to know they were sent to jail yesterday in the police station one of them said he had four children waiting for him at home and they do not have any thing to eat if they are guilty then karma will punish them but if they are not i do not want to be the reason of their sufferings is their anything i can do to get them out of jail for the past to days i have not been able to sleep i am very tensed i want this to end as soon as possible please help

First of all do comaplaint in the nearedt police station where the incident happened and see if there is any cctv installed anywhere so that you may get the footage and if you remember the bike number or if you have seen the face and you can recall do tell the police and if you have already reagister the complaint and no action has been taken then file a RTI on that complaint to know the status and if no action has been taken then file a complaint before the court about this incident so that the megistrate will order the police officials to take necessary action . If you are not sure that the guys caught by police are the same guys who snatched your mothers purse, in such case in case a TIP will be conducted by court, you can identify them as the guys who didn't snatched your mothers purse. After that they will be released by court. But if they were the same guys who snatched, then as per law they will be tried before the court.

Yes one way is to file Quashing of FIR in high court of delhi or you can refuse to identify them and then they will be able to get bail. But once the trial has started then you cannot do anything except they applying for bail. Quashing will serve your purpose with immediate effect.
