Person cheated me he was already married can I take action against him
29-Jan-2023 (In Criminal Law)
There is a person i met at an online matri website. initially we chatted n became friends. later he said he hasnt recovered frm a previous breakup. so i consoled n supported as a friend. then, he proposed and we went on. suddenly said that girl came back n he wants to marry her. when i asked to leave me then, he didnt want to. We met at kolkata to decide the same. But lot of unwated things happened then. He had lied about his name, place of stay. Now he is saying he is married to that girl since 3 years and showing some fb profile as proof. What action can I take?
you have to file a complaint against him. However, you need to consult a lawyer cum consultant before taking any action.

you can file a petition under Section 420 and 376 on the ground stating that he promised me to marry me. That is why we had a physical relationship as well but you have to show some proofs that he has promised you about it.

Hi,
you can lodged FIR against him if he made physically relationship with you. and now the question is his address and other proof not to worry police would recover everything. if he did not made physical relation ship with you than you can't lodge FIR against him. there are otherway out but not so easy.

Number 1: FB profile cannot be a conclusive proof of marriage.
Number 2: Unwanted things are subjective. Merely inducing a person to enter into a relationship cannot attract any criminal action, unfortunately. However, if the person has married you or promised to marry you action can be taken under Section 497 of IPC.

Dear Madam
From your query i cannot make out if this man in question ever promised you to marry? See, if he promised you to marry, then a case can be made out. Now whether that case can be successfully made, for that you would need to see a lawyer. A lawyer will build such a case for you where we can show that he promised to marry you and then backed out. Its not an easy case to prove since these days courts are adamant on looking into only such credible evidence which can be relied upon without a second doubt.
