Opposite party asking for Rs 2lakhs as compensation what can I do

My father was running a C&FA for Kwality Walls till 2010. In 2007 one guy from slum area has come for theft in the area where the office is located . There was a broken electricity wire nearby and he got shock and the dead body was found next day on top of one of the ice cream refrigerator kept for charging near the outside compound .From 2008 the case filed by parents is going on in the court without any result.My father became bankrupt in meanwhile .The parent are asking for 2 lakh for out of court settlement which is difficult as per our financial condition.I need suggestion in this regard
