I was in a relationship with a guy, say X. I knew that he was already in a relationship with Y but he told me that he shall break up with her. But in August X signed a legal document with Y agreeing to marry her. They even rented an apartment declaring themselves as a married couple. I did not know any of these. I came to know of it in December and I broke up with X. Meanwhile X is still trying to break up with Y. In March, people from the women's cell came over to my house. My mother was in the house and they complained to her that I'm still in a relationship with X and they have proof. I don't have any contact. Now X calls me over and says that Y is planning to take revenge on me for she thinks I am responsible for X falling out of love with Y and wanting to break up.. My question is how can Y take legal action against me?? I had relationship with her boyfriend, not husband. Please help.

Firstly,please take a note that you cannot be charged for adultery.
Secondly ,please submit a complaint writing about all these facts to your local police station.

You must not fear as you need to understand the laws of the country which you are not aware off, its just a threat per se, at the max consult lawyer and make an intimation letter to police for any future safety concerns.

Activity of your boyfriend is not legal. He created situation of dilemma before you and Y. Firstly , none can live completely as husband and wife enjoying matrimonial life only on agreement. If anyone live and enjoy matrimonial life making physical relationship etc. Then rights of spouse is automatically generated against each other but simultaneous behavior with more than one female or Male is totally illegal and punishable. If your boyfriend was already in relationship with Y prior to you and you have already known about this then you have to clear before your boyfriend that your boyfriend have to select you and from Y he has to make separation through legal process because he had made agreement with Y and enjoyed matrimonial life otherwise Y will be eligible to take to shelter of court against your boyfriend and you also.

Dear Madam, in this situation do not judge whether he is husband or not. If the society look and observe them as husband and wife, then it will be presume that they are husband and wife, no documents are needed.
Can have Marriage Certificate of your Father and Mother? if not, can you say at this stage your father is only boyfriend of your mother ? So, in your Case, you became the third party who interfare upon the husband of a lady. And as such she will take legal action against you.
So, quite it. Look another guy and love with him. Why this.
