Money fraud done by a company now on asking giving life threats

28-Oct-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Dear sir In Aug-15,I have invested an amount of 10 lacs,in a construction raw material supply firm based in Karnal after seeing ad in daily news paper that return will be 15% payable per month..Till 3 month the party paid me the income, after that started avoiding calls,in march -2016 when i asked for invested money and profit to return then the party started threatening and giving threat to kill.I lodged a complaint in local police station ROPAR,PUNJAB,because it was Money fraud as well life threat. But till date police is not filing F.I.R.because police is telling that my agreement is made in Karnal which is in Haryana. My all money transaction neft/cash is made through local bank at ROPAR.I can not go and approach in Haryana because i am afraid of his threats. Please suggest us that F.I.R. can be lodged in local police station or not.

Hi,
Ur case is sensitive nd u have to take cautious measures before proceeding further. Be calm and first approach to the police station where you have investesd the amount. Ask them to file a fir. They will not on the spot file fir against the accused. Police will contact the other party also and after proper investigating if they feel that prima facie offence has been made out they will file fir. If they donot did anything you have 2 ways either file criminal complaint in court or write application to cp. My preferable advise to u would be donot waste time file criminal complaint immediatly.

you can file case against them at Ropar as you are residing at Ropar and your transactions took place at Ropar. IN case police is not registering FIR against them, you can approach the Ropar court and file complaint and the court can direct the Police station to register the FIR OR the court may itself treat your complaint as a private complaint and shall treat as an FIR case.
