For what purpose Ultrasound is required,if the same is required for medical treatment and for the welfare of the child,then it can be permitted but for the purpose to verify the sex of the child it is not permitted.

Yes. Ultrasound of a pregnant lady can only be done with the recommendation of a registered practitioner. Consent is never required in these cases as matter is of urgency not of convenience. So, it is better to take care of your wife and prepare her mentally for giving a birth to baby. If required, take her to counselling center's in Government hospitals, if she has plans to abort the baby. Be sensible and reasonable at the same time.
