Is statement given to police is admissible in court

12-May-2023 (In Criminal Law)
If arrested for any crime, is it manadatory or desirable to make any statement to the police?? Can you take resort to saying that your reply may be used aganist you...you can always say that: i am innocent.. Secondly, can you insist that your lawyer be present while you are being questioned? Can you complain to the magistrtae/judge that you have been treated badly or made to admit your “crime”, when preseneted before the court?
