Is sanction needed u/s 197 crpc for proceeding further in case?

I've filed pvt complaint u/s 200 crpc against senior police officers for filing closure report in collusion with accused for case u/s 377 IPC. Magistrate raised issue of prior sanction. Can I proceed without prior sanction. Kindly help

Prior sanction is very much important. If the accused a government employee, and the offense is that araised on discharging his official duty, prior sanction is mandatory for initiating prosecution u/s 200 cr.p.c. on him.
