29-May-2023 (In Criminal Law)
Sir, I want to ask that a person lodged in jail and he fled on his court date from the custody from district court and than after 16 months he caught again and went to jail. At present he got acquittal in the case in which he took the step to flee.and now out of the jail. Is it possible to get acquittal in this fugitive case, because he is preparing himself for govt. Services .please advise me so that he may have a chance to make his life better.. Faithfully yours

As gathered from your narrative, earlier case has been disposed off with acquittal which is good. Fugitive case is seperately going on and has to be dealt with seperately ,it should not be very difficult to get favourable or mild verdict in given background. For govt or any service he can give the following explanation if convicted: Law of the Country and also World over requires all guilty to correct themselves and they are to be considered free after atoning for their crimes as much as anyone else. This Law basis was first propounded in hindu expiatory theory of Manu.
