In India, call recording is legal under certain circumstances. It is legal if the person recording the call is one of the parties involved in the conversation, that is, if the person is either making or receiving the call. However, it is illegal if a third party records the call without the knowledge and consent of both parties.

In other words, if you record a call when you yourself are talking on the call, it is legal. However, if you record the call of two other persons without their consent, it is illegal.

The rules that apply to call recording in India are primarily governed by the Indian Telegraph Act, 1885, and the Information Technology Act, 2000. Under these acts, any unauthorized interception, monitoring, or recording of a telephone conversation is a punishable offense.

If someone exposes your messages or call recording to the public at large without your consent, it could be considered a violation of your privacy and could lead to legal action.

Call recordings are treated in different manners owing to each peculiar set of circumstances. Also telephone laws would apply to such recordings. Exposing someone's messages or call in public or someone exposing your calls or messages in public is an offence and also violative of Article 21 of the Constitution

If you record your call on your mobile it is not illegal. But if you use that call to blackmail someone or for some illegal purpose then yes you would be liable under law of land. You can not spy on anybody and record call of other two persons applying some hacking devices. It is surely illegal.
