In what all scenario victim to be considered as witness in Indian law ?

Under criminal law, Victim is a Witness to the crime, and under some offences victim may be entitled for compensation as well, However victim is a witness under criminal jurisprudence. Criminal cases are prosecutions filed by state(Govt) against the accused.

In all the circumstances the victim is considered as witness as he is the one who has suffered at the hands of the culprit.The main witness is the victim if he is mentally stable he can only tell what happened to him

The statement of the victim is the prime most piece of evidence in Court, thus the Victim (unless deceased) is the most important witness from the side of the prosecution. Thus, a victim under all scenarios in a witness in Indian Law.
