How to proceed against complaint logged under sec 279/337

22-May-2023 (In Criminal Law)
A complained is logged against me under the above IPC section, it is taking too long and is a lot of mess. i wanted to know if I talk to the complainant for settlement outside the court, can he take withdraw his FIR and close the case. I haven't been to a single court hearing yet apart from MACT court where insurance claim is to be settled. The charge sheet has not been submitted yet in the metropolitan court. If i settle with the so called victim can the complaint be quashed. Thanks in advance

If you settle the matter with complainant the case be quashed by high court and if you donot want to approach the high court, you may approach the court of metropolitan magistrate, who would allow compounding u/s 337 and you will have to plead guilt u/s 279

FIR can not be quashed after the compromise of out side settlement. After appearance and after submitted the charge sheets in the court by the concerned IO of concerned police station. Yes before the charged in court, the case can be settled in the court or Lok Adalat with compromise stag.
