Guy passing died due to labors mistake what to do

Hello everyone, We are building a house on our own plot. It is given to a contracter and so we only provide him the money and he does everything. Yesterday, a guy walking other side of road was hit by one of the bricks which had fallen down by some Labour's mistake and now the gyy is killed due to that. Their family is asking for 5lac compensation and that to groom owner. How should we proceed and what legal route can save us. Sunil Singh

Vicarious liability refers to a situation wbere someone is held responsible for the action or omissions of another person. You can save you skin if are able to pfove that the accident was happened in ths course of their employment.

Under the vicarious liability, the owner is also liable to compensate to the deceased but if there is written agreement with the contractor you can save yourselves that it is the contractor's liability to compensate if any .

If you enter in written contract with your contracted mentioning responsibility of any damage caused in said construction goes on contracted then you produce said written agreement before claim tribunal
