Group of people attacked us police not taking complaint

Group of people attacked when I'm in My home. They struck My elder brother & myself. I gave complaint to Police but they're not taking it seriously & I get free advice from Police SI as "Go & Compromise with them". As of My knowledge, this is rowdyism. What should I do now to get justice ? Can I directly go to DCP ? I don't have any reason Why they attacked us. All I know this is part of harassment bcoz, People attacked & myself both live in same colony. Any help is very much appreciated.
If local police station is not filing a complaint please file a complaint to the DCP and also to commissioner of police. You can also approach court to file a private complaint and ask for transfer of case to another police station.
