False complaint by neighbors

My elder brother , aged 65 years is staying at our native place. As we have a house, agriculture lands & coconut farm some one has to be there to look after these while we all are staying in Mumbai, Bangalore etc. Of late one of our neighbours, who is also our distant relative, has been harassing him by lodging false police complaints. The complainant is staying in Mumbai & the complaints are lodged through post. It has become a real nuisance . Today the third complaint was lodged and my brother is called to the police station. Please advice a remedy for this nuisance.
With respect to the false case registered by your neighbor, you should send a written intimation to the Police stating the facts of the case and also that you are ready to offer full cooperation in the investigation of the matter.
Furthermore, you can file a civil suit for malicious prosecution (only once you are acquitted from the Court) and defamation claiming damages and compensation for the harassment you have been subjected to.
In the alternative, you can also register a case under Section 211 of the Indian Penal Code for the offence of filing false charges against someone with the intent of causing injury or even under Section 500 for criminal defamation..
