Defense if charged for abatement to suicide

15-Jul-2023 (In Criminal Law)
I got married on 20/01/2013 but because of his family Issues we divorced in 2015 but my husband didnt want the divorce but his family forced him. This year 2017 he again came to me and ask me to remarry him and his family was also ok with it and happy.I gave some conditions to him and he was ready for those commitments and he also gave those commitments in writing.we again stayed together for 3months and his family again started quarreling with us and ask me to leave their house.I left their house but the nxt day my husband tried commiting suicide because of his family and even wrote a letter stating the reason for his suicide is his family which I have a photocopy of it.My husband however survived but his family is stating that because of me he suicide and they are threatning me that if my husband dies they will put me behind the bar. Will I be held responsible if he commits suicide or if he dies?

You have to send a letter to the police station revealing the fact why your husband has tried to commit suicide and you are not responsible as your husband is trying to commit the suicide under the pressure of your in-laws.

And you will be not held for abetment of suicide in caSe of your husband commit suicide.

No its Not possible to put you behind the bar because your conditions are agreed by your husband and you went his home for cohabitation and when you left the home he attempts suicide and as per you he wrote a note so you are not responsible for the act
