Convicted in a criminal case out on bail can i apply for passport now

I have a 304 B and 498 (A) case pending in the high court, i was convicted for 4years by the civil court and imprisoned for 3.5 yrs and i was on out bail and the case was self submiitted to the high court. i wanted to apply for a passport for the foreign visit. can i apply is my question???

You need to come out of the conviction and some period has to elapse before you apply for a passport. There would be a column in the application enquiring about your conviction if any criminal case. Therefore, come out of the high court case and then apply for passport.
