Only way the caste of person gets changed , is when he gets adopted by a person of different caste. e.g. A Brahmin can become an SC/ST, if adopted by an SC/ST person and vice-versa.
Even if you change your religion, either the caste gets abandoned or it remains same but may fall into a different Category - e.g. If an SC/ST person converts to Christianity he come under OBC category, category changes but not the caste.
