Can I take legal action against an Advocate?

My lawyer cheated me. actually i filed a case against some shopkeeper in consumer court. but my lawyer cheated me. he took 3 lacs from me but no result.now my lawyer dnt even respond. please help me i am in great mess.

Sir, before any definitive comment on the courses of action available to you a detailed study of your case file and relevant court orders are essential. If there is any lacuna in the Conduct of your case then you may be able to approach the appropriate authority for some relief

You may file a complaint with the concerned bar council for misconduct. However, you need to prove that he has cheated you. Lawyer is not expected to do that but if the concerned lawyer has, then he should definitely be reported.

Hi,

Going by what you have shared herein and before advising anything it would be useful if you can show the documents of case. Also a complaint can be initiated against the said lawyer before the Bar Council of respective state...
