My brother is in Army. Bhabhi committed suicide at her parents home and the girl made a dying declaration against my brother and family. Now they are asking for money saying that they will compromise after payment. What can we do in such a situation?
it is an apt case for registration of FIR u/s 498A/304B/34 IPC , take immediate steps else case of Dowry death can be registered against them.

You have provided too little information. The answer would really depend on what is the nature of dying declaration. It can either make your brother accused of abetting to committing suicide or dowry death, depending on the nature of dying declaration. It's also important to know what has been told to the police as yet. Police must have come to your bhabhis house. If they haven't yet approached the police then you may pursue compromise in any, if the police has already registered a case and taken statements of the parents of your bhabhi, then definite legal advice can only be given after seeing the nature of dying declaration and other relevant information
