Accident matter settled after FIR filed will it affect my edu. career

In 2015 I met with an accident. I was with my friends. My friend was driving. Suddenly a old woman came and got hit by bike. Her relatives registered FIR against us. We tried to settle and they also accepted. But the police is saying that fir is registered. So Will this case affect my educational life, career? I am also trying for mpsc then will I get character certificate?
Police is saying. That means police is looking forward to some kind of considerations from you. As both the parties have agreed and things have settled, take a letter from the old ladiies family that it is settled and ask police not to take any action for the same and drop of the charges. If still police tends to harass get it quashed and inform court of police whimsical attitude towards you.
