A guy cheated us took money on promise to give job what legal action

One guy took 40000 rupees from 11 of us telling that he will give job at l&t company. Later we came to know that he is a fraud and we lost our money. What can we do.We gave the money at 2014 june.
A petition alleging offence u/s 420 & 406 IPC (cheating and criminal misappropriation) can be filed against this person before the police station having territorial jurisdiction. If the police is not registering the case a private complaint can be filed before the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court ...while making allegation ingeriants of the offence should be clearly demonstrated in the complaint...

The guy who made the representation that he will be able to provide job knowing fully well that he is not able to provide the job, thereby with criminal dishonest intention to cheat, even initially at the time of making the false representation and promise, we are well with in frame of law to prosecute the guy for committing the offense of cheating under section 420.
initially file a police complaint. if no action take up the matter before higher police authorities. if no action file private complaint in court to forward it to police for registering the crime and investigation and finally charge sheet.
