It's not true after 6-9 months police will close the case. If your friend has to give you money really, why you have not file case against your friend for recovey. May i know from which place you are?

Hello,

What kind of business you are into and for what purpose you gave the post dated cheques to your friend? There should be some reason for giving and taking of cheques. However, as your friend is in possession of your cheques, he can use them to his advantage to harass you. Don't think of escaping once you receive summons from court or else the court can issue NBW against you for your appearance and you might be in lot of trouble. It is not true that if police do not catch you for 6-9 months, the case will be closed automatically. There will be lot of hardships you may face if you do not honor the summons of the court. Therefore, once your friend files the cheque bounce case, contest the case on merits and come out of it.

close those accounts and issue instructions to the bank stating that those two cheques were lost in transit and file a complaint with the local police station stating that you lost them in transit and obtain crime number then you can escape the liability

Sir,
you can file a criminal case against the person who is possessing the blank cheques as it is illegal possessing of cheques either in theft or missing. mean wile inform to your bank to STOP THE PAYMENT in this cheque. the police will not chase you for your cheques as they are all civil cases and court alone will take actin but not police.
