Ex-partner from partnership still using partnership pan card

21-Jun-2023 (In Corporate Law)
I had to leave my partnership on May 11 2016 for my security as I was sexually harassed by my partner. The police did not take an FIR so I called the women's cell to and the police then made him write a written apology (where he only stated he will not disturb me again and gave me the rights to the partnership logo I made). One year later today he messaged and asked me to give him details of business conducted with the partnership PAN card so I reiterated the above to him and said I left on May 11 2016 and I partnership is since then over so no I have not used that pan card for any business. But it appears he has evidently been using the partnership pan card. And I went to his social media and I saw he still states his profession to be 'Cofounder' of our firm. A lawyer told me our partnership was technically over by virtue of no contact over a long period. So my question is- 1. Is our partnership not yet over? 2. If it is, are all his above actions not misleading and illegal?

If there were only two partners then your partnership was dissolved the moment you left your partnership. However, the other partner's rights etc depend on the agreement you both had at the time of leaving the partnership.

You told that Police have taken submissions of your partner in writing but it will not amount to dissolution of partnership firm because your partnership firm is registered that's why you have to file a suit for dissolution of partnership firm only after courts order your partnership firm will be dissolved well I suggest you to meet an expert local advocate in this regard

sorry for replying late.
a partnership is between two or more persons. since you were two and you call it a firm it would be necessary for me to look into your partnership deed. The partnership deed would determine the whether the firm is dissolved or existing. It would also be necessary to know how your bank accents were being operated. Many a times people who work together
call there business a partnership but since you mentioned you have a PAN then for sure you must be having a deed. I would like to see that to advise you properly.
