Legal issues of copying a business idea from another country

24-Mar-2023 (In Trademark & Copyright Law)
I am planning to adapt a toy idea from USA and market it in India. The product is quite simple, where kids can assemble puzzle pieces together to create different structures. I am not sure about what kind of protection is used by the original designer, or even if the idea qualifies for a patent. I need your help to decide what kind of legal issues I might face in future and is it possible to take some preventive measures right now to tackle any future patent/copyright claims by the US company.
