Vat charged on discounted price.

Hello Sir, I bought a pair of Adidas shoes from Adidas official website. They were giving a 50% discount on the product. The MRP(inc. of all taxes) listed was 2799 after 50% discount it comes out to be 1399.0 but they charged a VAT of 70 rupees on the discount price. At that time I did not know about the laws on the Vat on Discount. But in January National Consumer Court judgement came in which it was declared illegal to charge VAT on Discounted price. I have no time and money to fight the case in court. I just wanted to send a mail to them so we can solve the matter individually.
now after the advent of GST the vat concept has been dissolved as such. However you can send them an email requesting to agree on your demands and resolve the issue. It depends upon the date of transaction that whether the law of new taxation i.e. GST will apply or it is before the date.
