Unable to catch a preponed flight can I claim reund
15-Mar-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
I have booked a flight from Amritsar to Delhi for 5th April 6:45pm. It has been rescheduled to 4pm. I will be unable to reach the airport on time. Airline offered to refund full amount or move me to another flight of the same airline. They don't have another flight for the same day and staying another day will lead to additional hotel expense. Also, taking a full refund will also result in financial loss as the next cheapest flight will cost me 2000rs more above the refund. Airlines refuses to do anything else. Is there anyway I can avoid a financial loss for no fault of my own?
You cannot avoid flight or hotel losses as exigent it may seem.
But the losses(all of them) which you suffer are duly claimable at the consumer forum as flight is a mean by which you reach a certain destination which is not important what matters is what follows after you reach your destination you reach from one place to another for a pursuit be it recreational or work related. All can be claimed from the airline for an act of pre-ponement without prior information in advance time where you could make alternate arrangements

Yes there is a way. However, I shall not give you fake promises as the chances now are quite bleak of you getting refund with damages as you've ignored their offer. Still you may consider giving it a chance by serving them a legal notice.
This is a standard practice in Aviation industry. You can approach consumer forum for deficiency in service on behalf of Airline. But practically it's not a good option to pursue. It's better to claim refund. If the financial loss due to change in flight timing is so high than pursue your remedy under consumer law.
Hi, You may ask the concerned airlines to transfer your ticket and arrange your boarding in some other flight/airline at your scheduled time. If not done, the concerned airline must bear the additional expenses incurred by you.
