Travel agent booked ticket but airlines did not allow me to fly

I wanted to know as I booked online ticket one month before date of departure paid money to agent month before when I received the e ticket . On the day of boarding I received boarding pass 24 hrs prior and as well as boarding confirmation at the airline counter . but the airline refused at the last moment to allow me to fly because my agent had not paid them the fare amount I being senior citizen at age of 79 yrs had to run pillar to post and even lodged complaint at police station but I was not allowed to go and I missed the flight Next day I had to pay higher ticket price and travelled
You can file a case against the booking agent in a consumer court as well as a criminal case for cheating. Whether Airlines is liable or not can be said only after the ticket is seen because this ticket issued through agent seems to be different from a normal ticket which is issued only after full payment is made but in this case the ticket has been issued without receiving the payment. Hence, to establish the liability of Airlines the ticket will have to be seen.

You must file a consumer complaint before the appropriate Consumer Forum and make both the agent well as the airlines party to the case. You must ask for compensation from both individually for the inconvenience caused to you for the failure of the agent to perform his duty and for the failure of the airlines to accommodate you due to a mistake made by their agent.

you should file consumer complaint in against of your agent in consumer forum and demand money back with compensation and also you can file the criminal complaint for criminal breach of trust under ipc but mind it their is a conflict between the consumer complaint and criminal complaint of cheating because according to S.C judgement both cases cannot be proceeded simultaneously but slight change in the complaints can limit the matter under both authority of law ( Consumer and Criminal Law), so only a lawyer with good knowledge can give the better direction to start the case simultaneously.
