Re: hdfc credit card issue

Last year in august i had applied for a credit card from hdfc clearly mentioning that auto debit option must not be ticked marked while signing the application form.But they auto debited an amount of 3500 for my phone bill.My phone works on a corporate spouse connection and the amount was to be debitted from my fiance's salary but it wasnt.When i received the msg of auto debit i called hdfc customer care nimber to reverse back the process as i was not supposed to pay.Recently i have received a legal notice by some advocating stating to pay 5791 rs or face the consequences.I reluctant to confront the issue because i had stated them not to put the option of auto debit and now to hide their employee's mistake they are harrassing us.Please let me know what to do... i wish to pay only the principal amount not the interest because it wasnt my mistake at all.Its their negligence.

As you have stated that you haven't opted for auto debit but they debit from your credit card, we can prove this if you have photocopy of your form which you have signed if in any case you don't have then also you need not to worry, first of all we have to reply to their legal notice and mention all the things in our reply.

Your case is highly improbable. It is better to settle the case here or else you will be paying more in the courts to the Advocates. Also, auto-debit feature is not applicable for future purchases like the one you are telling. Auto debit feature is for auto pay towards the credit card bill.
