Purchased a phone online which is defective what to do

I bought a mobile from snapdeal, per specification described on web it must have compass sensor but when i checked in phone it does not contains any compass sensor, I logged an request to refund or changing it with other model but the denied and sending me back same model. Please suggest what should i do?
You can send a written complaint about the fault in the product and ask for a refund if there is no response by the company you may send a legal notice to the concerned department of the Company. As a last resort you can lodge a consumer complaint before the jurisdictional Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum for claim of your amount with interest. Please keep a copy of invoice with you.

The product can be replaced if there is a manufacturing defect and the company can be held liable for not replacing the same or refunding the amount. The company can also be held liable for misrepresentation if it had shown the aforesaid feature in the description of the mobile and the mobile does not have it. It amounts to unfair trade practice. The case would be maintainable before the District Forum.
