Misuse of attendance rule by Mumbai university engg college

My engineering college is detaining students with attendance below 20% but according to mumbai unvrsty rules students should have minimum attendance of 75%. Matter of fact there are hundreds of students less than 50% attendance and still allowed to appear for exams..rules should b same for everyone then why only students with less than 20% should be detained and loose a year. Pls tell me what can I do to save my year or atleast ake college detain other students with attendance below 75%
You can take up the matter to the vice chancellor of the university. If that does not work out, you can file a writ petition in the Bombay High Court regarding the issue.
