INDIAN RAILWAY 'S unreasonable penalty

07-Jul-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
A parcel of Motorbike was booked from Jaipur to Rajkot on 8-5-2017. Booking details along with tracking procedure were sent to mobile number. This article could be tracked through 'Railway parcel Tracking'. On next day this parcel loaded and reached at destination. but railway didn't intimated nor it's status updated on Tracking Website even till today. When destination station was approached to redeem the parcel casually on 17-5-17, railway authorities confirmed it's arrival on 10-5-2017. As fine for storage they charged 1940 Rs. unnecessarily. What is the solution to claim this unreasonable sum charged due to negligency and withholding the tracking data by Indian Railway?

Sir, you are a consumer and the Railways are the service providers. Therefore you are entitled to recover not only the penalty charged by railways but you can also claim compensation for using alternative vehicle for those days. In addition you can claim for deficiencies in services, unfair trade practice and besides this you can claim litigation cost for making these claims.
