How to Re-schedule hearing at Lok-adalat &file; case in consumer court

Recently reliance Communication ltd has sent me a legal notice for non-payment of broadband bill and asked me to be present on 12th December at lok-adalat. the bill was not paid intentionally by me due to failure of service by reliance. But my query is how i can re-schedule hearing, as i am not available on 12th Dec due to important engagement outside city and also want to know exact procedure to file case in consumer court.
You can submit an application to Lok Adalat through a counsel thereby specifying your difficulty and accordingly you would be given another date.
