Fee hike by university without any intimation what to do now

I am an NRI student in JAMIA MILLIA ISLAMIA studying from last 2 years paying $2000 but this year the university is asking for $4000.I don't understand what to do. I don't know what type of lawyer do I hire. Please help me. I don't have such amount of money to pay for my college.

Put your concern in written addressing to the vice chancellor of the university stating the facts and asking reasons for the current fee hike.
wait for the revert from the authorities.
file an RTI ASKING THE SAME , putting your concerns.
if the reasons mentioned in the reply don't look justified you can file a writ

Fees cannot be hiked without duly informing. Further, it cannot be hiked suddenly in the middle of the course. You should get a stay from the court against such hike of fees in arbitrary manner by the university.

Send them a letter asking for the reason for the hike, initially there is no need for starting legal proceeding. But if you are not satisfied by their reply then you can send them legal notice and after that can file suit in civil court or can also file writ in HC against university.
