False promises made by country club about offers, how to recover money

30-Mar-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Hi , I am from Bangalore, I have become the member of country club on 19th June 2016 as they called me and my wife and promised a lot. Now they are stating that many of the offerings they have specified are not valid and I have not even received the club cards. I have paid 1.15 lakh for this purpose. Could some one help me out in how could I get my money refunded back. Thanks so much.

Hi,

While becoming member of the country club they should have issued you a brochure containing membership details , terms and conditions, kindly check that, go through the same. If they have cheated you its a criminal matter. Please feel free to contact me

Yes of course you can get back your money if you are able to establish the fact that the country club hasbfailed to fulfill all the assurances and promises made at the time of taking membership from them. Suggest you to approach consumer forum advocate at the earliest.

If you have with you written documents given to you by the club and if it contains such promises which are now declined by the club, you can ask for a refund. you can also claim damages . I can draft a case to you which you can only file and argue in consumer court.

Sir

Please issue a formal notice to them in requesting them to issue the club card. As you informed that you have already paid Rs. 1.5 lakh, then you have the right to claim your member card. Please ask them by way of notice through email or registered post request them to give the membership card. If they failed to perform, then you can proceed by filing a consumer case against them.

Whatever the oral promises they have made, it is difficult to prove it. If you are impressed by their advertisement in social media or paper publications or any email communication sent to you and they have failed to fulfill the same then there is a chance to recover your money by filing a complaint before jurisdictional consumer forum
