Can I Sue My Tailor?

07-Feb-2023 (In Consumer Court Law)
Hi, I have given a dress to my tailor to get it stitched before my marriage, i.e. in the month of September, 2016. She keeps on giving excuses, and now have stop responding to my messages. She has taken all the payment in advance. Can I lodge a complaint against her and if yes, what is the procedure.

Yes, if you have a valid receipt as a proof of the payment made, you can drag the tailor to court. The limitation for filing any consumer case is 2 years so your case is well within the time. Filing consumer case is super easy. You will get the format online, put the relevant details and make 3 copies of complaint plus copies for parties. Get the court fees required as postal order or DD made in favor of consumer court and there you go!

Well, if you are short of time, then hiring a professional lawyer is always an added advantage. Give it a try!
